e-Mails ....Initially when i was in school we used to keep in touch with our near n dear ones thru letters ... especially post cards .. coz we were too young then .. then came inland letters ... by then in urban areas telephone was already the major means of communication ....... i remember writing letters to my friends posting them and expecting a reply from them ... i wud be so happy to receive the reply that i wud reply to them also immediately .... then i went to hostel where there was only one phone for around 500 girls :( n so there were 2 options either i call my parents ( that too we didnt have a phone at home then ...so call up our neighbour .... :( ) or write letters .... as our hostel dead line was 6.30 it wud b difficult for me to call up even once a week ... so i chose to write to them ... i got a huge stock of inland letters n kept in my room ... i wud write to my dad every alternative day and he wud also reply back ... so i wud have atleast 2 letters in a week ... all the gals in the hostel were envious of me as i wud get atleast one letter a week !! it wud be sooo exciting to read the letters ... as the letter wud be written araamse they wud write all the minor details and small small incidents tooo ,,,, half written by dad n half by mom ... then i had a pen friend who used to write to me atleast once in a month ! so those were the days ... then came phone to our house and also my hostel changed ..so i cud call them anytime .... as it was difficult for them to gt thru ,, then the only letter i used to get was of my pen friend !! even then girls were jealous as they wud get none !!time passed by ... cell phones n e-mails came into picture ... now whomever u see has a cell phone including me ...he he .... and then e-mails ... gone are the days of real snail mails in which we had to actually wait a week minimum to get the reply ... now its fast moving world ..everything shud be immediate ... so we have surrendered to e-mails n cells ... actually to be frank ... communication is def faster in these ... u can reach wherever whenever n whomever !! U dnt have to wait for them to return home or calculate the working days of post office for the letter to reach them !!just drop in a mail anytime ... it will go n sit in their inbox !! thats it .. or just dial their cell number and u can reach them where ever they are (haan haan hold on provided that they are ina place where there is netwrok of their service provider he he )....................... and pour ur heart out .... thats it !! life has become so fast n simple in many ways but complications in others ,,, we are losing those small small pleasures in gaining the modern needs ... thats what i feel !! guess everything has its pros n cons !! ...............
