Ramnagar... Urf Ramghad of Sholay

Christmas weekend ….. One of the quickest , completely unplanned n economic trips I went for …. 3 of us decided we got to go somewhere for a trip … as it was long time since we went out and I wanted to get out of the City … So we decided to go for a short trip due to constraints like … one wasn’t free the next day .. and then we got to get back soon the day we go also ..etc etc … We decided to start around 8ish but ended up starting at 10 … We decided to meet at Kengeri which is on the way … It was lunch time by then and I hadn’t had my breakfast so tummy was growling … … so we had lunch there in a small but clean hotel … Full meals … started feeling sleepy but then … Then we started to Ramnagar … peak Sunny … Took a ksrtc bus … Reached ramnagar in 45 mins or so … then got some gnyaan from a fellow passenger along with the info that we had crossed our stop and we wud have to walk … So we got down n started walking walking … Close to 2 kmts to the stop where we were supposed to get down … …Too sunny … but then all joshed up … were thirsty …bought water n started walking again and then 3+ kmts to the bottom of the hill ………
Climbed one of the hills.. there were steps J and it was relatively cooler due to the trees on the way … but still there were lots n lots of steps ..were wondering how old people n kids wud manage !! then saw a few statues and small small temples on the way ..then reached the top .. …

went inside the temple … Not many people around … just a couple of gals with their herd of goats .. who started pestering us for money … Wherever we go just came coming behind us …pulling our clothes … Just wouldn’t leave us … we somehow escaped from them by leaving the place … Then … we sat on the rocks for sometime .. where we happened to see couple of locals … whom we asked THE question “where was the Film Sholay Picturised?” they told us some background and showed us one of the rock-top and told it was done there and then also mentioned that it was filmed in many places … Finally we thanked them … and started towards the next hill top It was a steep hill to be climbed ..but not to fear as we did have steps and also enough support to climb … Once we reached the top the sight was Heaven on Earth … Awesome view …

We strolled around for some time … n decided to head back …
As we had to catch the bus again …came down the hill ..all 3 were tired and hungry ..so bought some biscuits being sold by the security guard there ..
Killed our hunger for the time being …
Got back to the road … where we had to catch the bus back to Bangalore …
Within 10-15 mins we got a bus and got seat too
So … end of the trip when we got down in Kengeri again … to depart to our houses ….
Thought of a 1 day trip … but we finished in just 7-8 hours ! and we did enjoy it …
Not tired at all inspite of the climbing … bus journey !
Was amazed !
