Independence day

School : Full enthusiasm … discipline .. lots of activities … music dance speeches … sweets at the end ……..kids all dressed up for the occasion ..wake up early ..be in school …

Offices : Bare minimum …flag hoisting …max national anthem played on a music player….then tea party …

Some social organizations : visit ashrams ..spend time with orphan kids …or visit aged homes … distribute sweets … etc etc

City : sales …discounts … some decorations ..some flower shows …rangoli exhibitions … books exhibition etc etc

Auto drivers : flag hoisting … Gandhijis foto pooja …. Play desh bhakthi geeth at max volume …. Jhanda on all their autos …festive mood for them …

Some Indians : Indian flag on their house doors … rangoli with flag colors … a BIG flag on their bikes …

IT companies : decoration if time permits that too some people would be assigned to do that task …. Flag hoisting in some …… some speech and cultural function probably…but not mandatory to attend …so very less junta … most of them enjoying their day thinking that it’s a holiday and that’s it !!

Hmm …Country …patriotism … do we contribute anything to it at all ???

Guess we are too busy with our personal lives … to give a thought about the country !

Theres a saying in kannada which says "Noolinanthe seere ...thaayiyanthe magalu" ..which means the sareee would be just like the thread from which its made ...similarly daughter will be just like mom ... now am starting to wonder if its true ... might just be ... firstly cos ... tho daughter is always dads pet ... they do talk a lot to mom tooooo ...and then as the saying goes ..moms the first teacher ... so may be ... she does become the role model in many ways ... have seen many cases where in ... u see the daughter and u can make out how her mom is !!!! if moms clean freak daughter picks it up too .. similar way if mom's messy .. daughter is messy too ... and the attitude as well is passed on to the daughter ... ... still wondering if i shud accept this proverb or not !!!!

Trip to Queen of Hill stations Ooty !!

Date : 27-28 May 2017  Start : Bangalore  Destination : Ooty [Hairpin curve 10] Kmts Covered : 276 kmts Stay : LEOPARD ROCK WILDERNESS RESORT Group - 4 [Me, JK , KM and HR] MoT : RE :) I was cribbing that long time we went out ..so we should get out somewhere for the weekend .. And finally JK gave in to my pestering on Wednesday and our lovely friends KM and HR were also ready to join us.. Initial plan was to visit Masinagudi [we were all tempted after hearing  so much of praising from KM about the place he stayed ..The Monarch] .. Unfortunately our two attempts to book resorts in Masinagudi failed with KM being on calls with GoIbibo and Yatra to get the refund done ... all places were S*** expensive and Booked ... we were looking at the last moment i.e. a day before the trip and realised it was also the last weekend before the Schools re-opened and so it was obvious everyone wanted to get out !! Friday eve and we still didnt have a place to stay ... we then started thinking
